Athena...

..again i was made to travel for an assignment, this time the assignment is for a European bank, in Athens. what is special that strikes you in Greece. well as like any other European country, the country still holds its tradition, culture. not overly perturbed by any modernisation that are happening in the western world. there aren't many people who speak English in Greece. i roamed around the city in the only weekend i got, acropolis, whoever visits Athens should never miss this place.. and i pass by Olympic park daily for office. apart from these two places, i didn't get much opportunity to look around. Somehow Athens attracts lots of tourist from around the world and I also learnt that tourism and shipping are the 2 major industries in Athens. and

from what i have seen India is much more progressive country than this European nation.
so what do you do when you go to a new place or new country ?, enjoy the country culture, learn their language, taste their food. greeks use olive oil in their food preparation and there is a dish called peta(that's how we understood the pronunciation), so throughout the week i had chicken peta, beef peta...and as i said before "while in rome be a roman" in line with the above phrase started taking pork peta too..
climate, certainly it is that bad time of the year to travel to greece i think, the place is really hot.
ok wish i get some sleep...didnt sleep well for the past weeks...and regarding greek language i heard people tellng something like "'paragallo"..when they are trying to wish someone. did a google to understand, and couldn't manage to..so my idea of learning few greek words was not a success. any intelligent reader can help me understand the exact meaning of this word..
